Requesting, Approving and Scheduling of Field Trips

  1. The requestor prepares an application for the field trip (Form 3510F-1) and submits it to the Principal/Director.
  2. The Principal/Director reviews the request with the requestor and checks for compliance with all policies and procedures including field trips.
  3. The Principal/Director approves or disapproves the field trip request in writing to the requestor. If the field trip is disapproved, reason(s) must be stated. If the field trip is approved, the Principal/Director submits the application for field trip for approval to the Superintendent.
  4. The Superintendent reviews and approves or disapproves the regular field trip request in writing to the Principal/Director with a copy to the requestor. Copies of the approved field trip request form for any trip traveling beyond the boundaries of Silver Bow County will be provided to each member of the Board of Trustees by the Office of the Superintendent. If the Superintendent approves the extended field trip request, he/she prepares the request for the next Board of Trustees meeting for its review.
  5. The Board of Trustees approves or disapproves the extended field trip request.
  6. The approved application for a field trip must arrive at the transportation department two (2) weeks in advance of the trip.
  7. The Principal/Director coordinates, directs and has the requestor prepare a trip evaluation in memorandum form and submits it to the Superintendent, upon request.
