Butte School District

THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES

5251

Resignations

All personnel will generally be expected to fulfill the terms of their contract: (1) unless there are clearly compelling, mitigating circumstances which prevent the certified or exempt individual from doing so; and (2) until such time as the Board releases the certified individual from the terms of the contract upon recommendation of the Superintendent. All resignations must be in writing.

Requests for resignations may be subject to additional requirements in collective bargaining agreements.

Non–certified employees intending to resign who are not contractually obligated to complete the school year should notify the Superintendent as early as possible and no less than (14 days) prior to their resignation date.

The Board authorizes the Superintendent to accept or deny on its behalf the resignation from any District employee.

The Superintendent shall provide written acceptance of the resignation, including the date of acceptance, to the employee, setting forth the effective date of the resignation. Once the Superintendent has accepted the resignation, it may not be withdrawn by the employee. The resignation and its acceptance should be reported as information to the Board at the next regular or special meeting. All acceptances or denials shall be transmitted to the board.
