School Election May 7
This summer we are excited to offer Hornet Summer Reading. The reading will take place from June 8th to August 9th. The students will take tests on Accelerated Reader on books that they have read. (URL below) This is a voluntary reading program, but we encourage all to participate. Students that meet their summer reading goal will receive a Hornet Summer Reading t-shirt. Accelerated Reader tests may be taken where ever there is an internet connection. Next years first graders will not take Accelerated Reader tests; they will fill out a reading sheet and turn in at the start of school. The links are below for the internet. Please read the Accelerated Reader rules before beginning the summer reading program. The students can get books from the Public Library, friends, etc. The school library will not be available. Accelerated Reader tests may only be taken at home during the summer. Have a great summer and happy reading!
Reading Goals:
Next years: 1st & 2nd– read 20 books (fill out sheet/no Accelerated Reader)
3rd – 10 points & 80% or above test average
4th – 11 points & 80% or above test average
5th – 12 points & 80% or above test average
6th – 13 points & 80% or above test average

Accelerated Reader Rules:
1. Students may only take tests on the books that they have read.
2. The student may not use the book while taking the test.
3. The student needs to take the test by themselves.
4. Students may not take tests for any other students.
