Online Registration
The Butte School district is once again utilizing Online Registration. Registration for the 2023-2024 school year opened on Feb. 13 at 8:00 am. You must have a Parent Portal account to register. If you can’t remember your user name or password, please email olrhelp@bsd1.org. Classes fill up quickly. If they are full, we do have to force transfer students to other elementary schools. If you have a new kindergartner to register, you can do that on the same application after you register your current student. All students must bring a utility bill as proof of residence. This will complete the registration. New students must have: birth certificate, current immunizations, and a utility bill. We will send a message out as soon as we know about our Preschool registration date.
Week of Inclusion:
Special Olympics Unified Champion Schools invite you to join us in Spread the Word Day of Activation. The theme this year is: Going All In(clusive!). We want to encourage everyone to take action for inclusion and celebrate champions of change by participating in a week of inclusion activities.
Monday 3/6: At Emerson, we are blended together! Wear your favorite tie dye apparel.
Tuesday 3/7: Be comfortable with who you are! Wear your favorite pajamas to school.
Wednesday 3/8: United for kindness and acceptance! Wear your Emerson gear—we are a team!
Thursday 3/9: Don’t Sweat it! Wear sweats and bring $1 if possible. Each dollar goes directly to supporting Special Olympics athletes. This is a district wide day. Students will sign a Champions of Change banner and take a Unity walk around the school at 12:30.
Kindness Coins: Staff will “Catch” students showing kindness/respect and give them a kindness coin. Once students receive a coin, they must look for other students demonstrating kindness and pass it on! A big thanks to Ms. Huizinga for getting Emerson involved and organizing the activities!
Papa Murphy’s Night— On Wednesday, March 22nd, order Pizza and support our school! 20% of sales will go to Emerson. Look for a flyer coming home soon. Use code SUPPORT at online checkout— www.papamurphys.com—or Walk in or call 723-5050 and mention Emerson. It’s a great deal! Emerson thanks you for your assistance. PTO said this will be our Spring Fundraiser. Thank you to our PTO! They’re the best!
Congratulations to Mason Tischmak, a 4th grader here at Emerson. He recently won the city spelling bee with the words “actinic” and “aphids.” We are so proud of him and wish him the best of luck at the State Spelling Bee on March 11th at MSU!
SBAC testing will be starting for 3rd-6th graders in April. It’s very important for students to be present, to have a good breakfast, and to be well rested.
