Welcome to Emerson Elementary!
Emerson Elementary was originally built in 1901 with the current building being built in 1969. Emerson is one of 6 elementary schools in Butte.
As with each school that comprises the Butte School District, the students at Emerson enjoy great teachers who hold all students to the highest standards of learning. All students are challenged to meet or exceed the current standards of learning with the deeply embedded belief that all students can become life-long learners when given the building blocks for laying a solid foundation. The students, faculty, and parents are sources of encouragement and guidance for the accomplishments of their students scholastically, as well as in extracurricular activities.
At one time Emerson housed 180 students in a 4 room school house. The rooms were heated with a wood stove and there was one outhouse in the back for all to share. Thankfully times have changed. The current building was built in 1969, and has over 18 classrooms. The students, faculty and parents are very proud of the accomplishments of their students scholastically, as well as extracurricular activities.
