Announcements:

Red Ribbon Week: Join us October 24-28 for drug prevention and awareness. The National Red Ribbon Campaign exists to educate youth in drug prevention activities. The theme this year is “Celebrate Life, Live Drug Free.” There will be a schedule of activities for students to take part in.

Halloween: Teachers will let guardians know more about individual classroom parties. We will post info on the parade schedule/route as well. Students can wear costumes to school on the 31st. No plastic weapons! Halloween is an early dismissal day. Times are in the calendar.

Attendance: Please make sure to call the office at 533-2800 when your child is absent. We still appreciate the notes to the teachers. They just don’t always have time to get them to the office before attendance calls go out. Thank you!

Pickup/Drop Off: Please don’t drop off students before 8:00 am. There is no supervision on the playground at this time, so it is a safety concern. Please watch closely for students crossing on Garrison Avenue. Just a reminder, Phillips Avenue is for Bus, RMMA, and YMCA pick up only.

Dig City: Dig City is a branch of 5518. They are located at 43 W. Park Street. They sell Emerson Elementary t-shirts in youth and adult sizes. If you choose to buy one, ten percent of the proceeds go back to the school. Thanks, Dig City!

5th & 6th Grade Volleyball: Parents can access volleyball standings and schedules by going to this website: https://playpass.com/butte-school-district-elementary-sports

Emerson HEROES: This year’s HERO celebration will be a bit different, not just 1 student per class per term. Every child has the opportunity to earn a celebration.  This will be based on being Healthy, their best effort in Education, Respect for others, and Open-Heartedness.

PTO News:

Please join! Our Parent Teacher Organization is the very best! They have provided the school with new water fountains, basketball backboards, athletic equipment, playground stencils, and basically, whatever teachers need! PTO has their next meeting on Oct. 25th at 7pm in Mrs. Warner’s room. Stay updated by following the “Emerson Elementary PTO” page on Facebook. Our fall Fundraiser is selling World’s Finest Chocolate and Bequet caramels. The sale will run from Oct 4th through Oct 18th. Our PTO officers are Whitney Skinner, President; Misty Warner, Vice President; Brandy Powers, Secretary; and Alynn Jonart, Treasurer. We thank them for all the time and effort they put in for the students and staff of Emerson!
