Hello Whittier Families,

This week the Student Leadership Group is focusing on respectful playground behaviors. The first major snow of the year makes for new fun out at recess. Some of the students had a competition to see who could roll the biggest snow balls, which is great as long as they stay on the ground. Remember that snow ball fights or throwing snow at others is not allowed. The playground equipment can get really slippery with the new layer of snow so make sure you are not pushing or pulling one another. Our group is going to be watching for respectful playground behaviors this week and praise students when they see positive interactions.

Monday: Make sure you are including others, not excluding others out at recess.

Tuesday: Practice safety on the playground equipment today.

Wednesday:  Challenge yourself to go play with someone new.

Thursday: Make sure to respect others personal space out at recess.

Friday: Use your words to solve problems.
