Pertussis

Pertussis

The Butte School District has been notified of positive cases of Pertussis/Whooping cough within our district. We are working closely with the health department at this time. Please be aware of the symptoms of Pertussis to help reduce the spread of illness. Symptoms initially can include a runny or stuffy nose, low grade temperature and a mild cough. The cough usually progresses to a harsh, rapid, violent, or uncontrollable cough. Coughing can induce vomiting and can sound like a high-pitched whoop. If your child has symptoms, especially a concerning cough, please keep them home from school and contact their health care provider. Please reach out to our school nurses for additional questions or concerns.
