Superintendent Jonart's End of Year Message to Families

Dear Families,

Kids off to summer jobs, baseball, softball, vacations, summer camps, and barbecues all provide a chance to bond and a lift from the long winter’s grip; it is a time to re-charge those batteries, breathe in the freshness of summer, and perhaps visit that favorite stream, lake or camping site.

This year provided another year of continued progress and success. Again, we remained open throughout the school year returning to a regular daily schedule, and that is due in no small part to you and your student’s efforts in supporting the district’s health/safety first commitment. We also celebrated the completion of our building projects that enhanced our safety infrastructure and created 21st century learning environments that will serve our students now and in the future. These improvements to the infrastructure, once again, can be directly traced to family and community support, support that always puts our Butte kids first.

Even though we are thinking about a break at this time, I am thrilled that the Butte School District will continue to have a number of summer programs for students that are both academic and activity based. Our ROCKIES program has continued its guarantee of sustainability and is a wonderful resource for families with students in grades K-6 providing both academic and enrichment programs.  We will also be offering our high school credit recovery courses and middle school summer academic program. Additionally, the district will partner with Butte High coaches to provide summer sports camps for kids of all ages. Finally, Driver Education will be offered during the summer at Butte High School for students pursuing the graduated licensing program.

We have had a many wonderfully rewarding days in Butte School District this year and I look forward to many more  during the 2022-2023 school year!!!  Thank you so very much for all your support and cooperation!  Please have a safe and relaxing summer
